It is possible to resolve your family law case , including dissolution of marriage (divorce), paternity, prenuptial agreement, and other family law issues privately and outside of court proceedings. Not only is this method more efficient, but it is also more economical and there is a higher rate of settlement.
The Collaborative Law approach would require both parties and their respective counsel to sign a Participation Agreement, specifically agreeing that neither party would resort to court intervention in the midst of resolving their family law issues. It assures the spouse/partner that the other spouse/partner's counsel is not attempting to unravel the settlement negotiations.
Negotiating an agreement outside of the courtroom with the Collaborative Law parameters will also give the spouses/partners an opportunity to craft an agreement tailored to their specific family's circumstances, which may not otherwise be awarded in court.
